F2F with a Spitfire

Had a great lunch today with a fellow ww.ca and spitfire today. Hi Kimberlee! Thanks for the great lunch and good visit today. See you in March.

Just getting ready to go to the gym in a bit because brunch was WAY too good today. Thought I would get a little post in and get a couple more pictures on here. I managed to track down my 'before' picture from December of 2005 when I was at my highest...meaning 80 pounds heavier than I am today...ugh! Lots of people have been commenting on my weight loss lately and they're exclaiming "oh my god...you sure lost fast" but it's been no faster than average but people get used to seeing you a certain way and when it suddenly "looks" dramatic they think you have contracted some sort of terminal illness. I can't wait until I start getting the "don't you think you've lost enough weight?" question ...I used to always reply "I will keep losing weight until weight watchers tells me I've lost enough."

So anyway, going to try and get a few more pictures posted here. I hope it works! Count your points, journal and drink your water! :-)

The picture of me in the blue shirt was taken December of 2005 and I am at my highest weight. The picture of me in the brown shirt was taken January 27, 2007 and I am down 56 pounds. The last picture of me in the pink shirt was taken today (February 25, 2007) and I am down 66.6 pounds from my "official" ww start weight although unofficially I am down 80 pounds from the first picture taken of me in the blue shirt.

First Post as a blogger :-)

Hi everyone! This is my inaugural foray into blogging and I'm still unsure of how to use everything but I'll plug along and try to figure it out. I started this because I feel like I need to start to keep a record of how this weight watchers thing is going for me plus I wanted a place to put my progress pictures to help inspire others to keep at it! Maybe I should have started this journal when I started back at WW meetings but better late than never. I post on the weightwatchers.ca website on the Wonderful 30 year olds in the "Spitfire Sisters" thread as well as wandering over into the GDT sometimes.

I honestly couldn't have gotten as far as I have had it not been for my support group. I love them all like sisters and I can't wait to meet you all someday. It's coming up to my 2 year anniversary since I started posting with the Spitfires and they are truly the best cyber friends a girl could ask for. Such a great support system on the entire website and is such a great resource on anything from having a gain to indecent public washroom behaviour. :-)

A little about this WW thing...I have done the program so many times I have 4 different getting started books. Some may interpret that as failure but I see it as determination. The first time I joined WW was on the 1,2,3 Success program in probably 1998 when we had points ranges and I did very well and lost 94 pounds. Unfortunately for me, I met a cute boy whom I was with for a number of years but I let myself go and forgot about all of my healthy lifestyle and gained all my weight back and then some. I also found out I was hypothyroid in the summer of 2005 which explained the 50 lb weight gain in 6 months. What a stressful depressing time. It's taken a long time for me to find the right level of medication for my thyroid to function well enough to allow for weight loss again and it's been pretty good for the last 3 months and I've been losing again. I'm following the flex program and it's the best fit for my life. I am a member at the YMCA and try to get there 3 or 4 times a week as a great exercise program changes my shape like you wouldn't believe. I re-started WW meetings in June of 2006 just shortly before my relationship ending but I didn't let that stop me and as of today I'm down 66.6 pounds with another 55 or so to go to reach goal. I would probably like to lose another 10 or so pounds after goal too. Once I get some pictures taken for comparison I will put them up here. Well, that's about it for me right now!
