I am still recovering from a crazy, monumental, historic, freaking AWESOME fight last night. I have been anxiously waiting for this fight because my favorite fighter EVER came out of retirement to fight Tim Sylvia for the UFC heavyweight championship belt and all I can say is WOW!!!!!! I was pretty worried before the fight because Tim is a huge motherf***** and Randy is 43 years old, clearly the underdog...older and a good head shorter than Tim. Well from the first 10 seconds until the bitter end of 5 rounds, Randy TOTALLY DOMINATED the match and it was awesome. My ex came over to watch and we were freaking out and screaming it was such a great fight! I watched the entire card again today and have watched the title fight 3 times now because I still can't believe it. I heart Randy Couture and you couldn't find a more humble and kind athlete. The best I've ever seen him fight that's for sure.
Whew! Can't stop thinking about it...sorry! Anyway, back to this weight loss thing. I was up 1.2 at WI this week but it was to be expected. Some water retention issues and brunch on Sunday but I know it's only temporary and I will bounce back in no time. Unfortunately the chinese food from fight night might not help my situation for WI this week but if it's less than stellar, again I will understand why. To try and counteract some of the damage I thought I had better get my butt to the Y so I went and had a major accomplishment today! I told myself I would jog at 5.0 for 3 songs on my MP3 player but at the end of the third one I felt great so I thought I would run for one more song. I always try to not look at my time while I'm jogging so by the time the fourth song was over I had jogged for 20 minutes straight!!!!! That is an incredible accomplishment for me as the longest I've been able to run is 12 minutes straight and a total of 17 minutes throughout the workout so to go for 20 minutes straight...I'm very proud of myself. Yay me! I will be getting exercise every day until WI so I can try to at least eliminate my gain from last week. Hanging in there!
